Wladimir van Wilgenburg is an on-the-ground reporter and analyst specialized in Kurdish affairs. He graduated from Utrecht University with an MA in Conflict Studies in 2011, and from Exeter University with an MA in Kurdish Studies in 2013. He co-authored two books on the Kurds of Syria, one with Dr. Harriet Allsop on the Syrian Kurds’ experiment with self-rule in 2019, and the other with Dr. Michael Knights on the SDF-US partnership against ISIS in 2021.
